This article explains how to change the password for a WordPress database. If your website is hosted on Shared or VPS, the steps are different. For instructions, see Changing a WordPress Database Password on Shared and VPS.

Step 1: Change the Database Password
Choose the tutorial that reflects your ACC interface type:

If you are using the Legacy Interface:
- Log into the Account Control Center (ACC) at my.pair.com
- In the left sidebar, click WordPress
- In the dropdown, click List Sites
- Click the nickname of your WordPress site
- Click Change Database Password
- Enter your new database password in the field
- Click Change Password
If you are using the New ACC Interface:
- Log into the Account Control Center (ACC) at my.pair.com
- In the top navigation bar, click WordPress
- Find your site and click its
(cog) icon
- Click Change Database Password
- Enter your new database password in the field
- Click Change Password
The ACC will automatically update your WordPress configuration file with the new password.
Step 2: Verify Your Site
Make sure your website is still running normally after the update.
- Visit your WordPress website
- Log into the WordPress admin area
- Confirm pages load normally and site functions as expected
